What Kute can and cannot see.
Your money stays yours. The app still sends some data, to us and to the partners you use. Here is what goes where.
What Kute can never see or do.
Your 12 words
Your phone makes your 12 words (your recovery phrase). Kute never gets a copy. So Kute cannot get your wallet back if you lose them.
Your keys
Your phone, or your Ledger or Jade, makes, keeps and uses your keys. Passkey wallets make them from a passkey that Apple or Google keeps for you. Kute’s servers never hold them.
Your money
Kute cannot move or freeze your money. Only your keys can sign a payment, and your keys are with you. Money you put into Predictions or Investing sits with Polymarket or Hyperliquid, under their rules, until you take it out.
What Kute can see.
The data the app sends to us or to our tools.
How you use the app
The app sends usage events to PostHog, on servers in the EU. They show what you tapped and saw.
Money events include the action, the asset, the network or partner, the exact amount, its dollar value and the fees. Trades also include the market, the side and the order type. The app also sends your exact balances, at most once every 6 hours.
What analytics never include
Your 12 words, your keys, your xpub (the public key of your wallet), your addresses, transaction IDs, invoices, your email, or anything you type or paste. Screen recording (session replay) is off.
Who the events belong to
A random ID that your phone makes when you install the app. It does not come from your wallet keys. It is not your name or a hardware ID.
You cannot turn analytics off today
The app has a switch to stop analytics, but the current version hides it. Until it shows, you can ask us to delete your analytics data at [email protected]. Crash reports go to Firebase Crashlytics, and the switch would not stop them. See the Privacy Policy, section 6.3.
Orders through partners
When an order goes through Orchestra, Polymarket or Hyperliquid, our servers keep a record of it to count fees and pay referrals. The record links to your wallet’s public key and your Lightning address, not to a name. If a plain Bitcoin payment does not go through a partner, we only count it. We do not keep a record of it.
How you found Kute
AppsFlyer tells us which link or store page led to your install. For each completed conversion or purchase, our server also tells AppsFlyer the dollar size of the order and the Kute fee. It never sends your addresses, balances or keys.
Support chats you start
If you write to us in the support chat (Crisp), we see what you send. Never send your 12 words. We will never need them.
Your country, from your IP address
Our server finds your country from your IP address. It uses your country to decide which features to offer. The app never sends a country and never uses GPS. Your IP address can show up in our error logs.
This website counts page visits with PostHog too, but only if you accept the cookie banner.
What partners see.
Each partner gets the data it needs to run its service. Its own rules apply.
Polymarket (Predictions)
Your app talks to Polymarket directly. Polymarket sees your Polygon address, your signed orders and your IP address.
Hyperliquid (Investing)
Your app talks to Hyperliquid directly. Hyperliquid sees your trading address, your signed orders and your IP address.
Orchestra (swaps and buys)
Orchestra sees where each order comes from and where it goes. This includes conversions and Bitcoin that you buy with Cash App.
Breez and Spark (Bitcoin and Lightning)
Breez and Spark run your Lightning and Spark payments. Passkey wallets also use the Breez passkey service.
Your Bitcoin data server
The server you pick in Settings sees your addresses or your xpub, and your IP address.
xAI (Ask Sal)
xAI gets the question you type, your chat with Sal and public market names. It does not get your balances, addresses or keys.
The Bitcoin and Polygon networks are public. Anyone can see the transactions on them, with amounts and times.
Kute never DMs first and never asks for your 12 words.
If someone writes to you first and says they are Kute, it is not us. Anyone who asks for your 12 words wants your money. Need help? Start the chat yourself.
